Lois Irene Rini

Rini, Lois Irene (Haas) Age 90 of Warren, died peacefully in her home, November 6, 2012. She was a former resident of Harrison Twp. and Detroit. Beloved wife of the late Anthony Rini. Predeceased by her brothers, William H. and John A. (Jack) Haas and her nephews, William J. and John H. Haas. Survived by her niece, Cheryl (Haas) Derr; Great nieces and nephews: William, Heather, and Amy; Kimberlee and Shellee; Steven and Bryan. Also a step-son, John Rini; the Rini nieces and nephews of the Oxford area: Lee, Paul, Julie, Tim, Suzy, Tony, Shelly, and the Testaguza's: Pauline, Marie and Leonard, as well as many great nieces and nephews. Lois was born in Detroit on January 19, 1922 to G. Howard and E. Irene (Rennie) Haas, on Townsend Avenue. She graduated from Cass Tech and her first job was a nanny for the family of a prestigious doctor. Next she went on to work in the office at Ternstedt's (then a division of GM) She married Anthony Rini in 1947 and moved to Stopel Street in an upper flat of the Rini family. Lois and Tony later worked at their stand at the Eastern Market where they both loved to sell fresh fruits and vegetables and enjoyed the interaction with so many people. Lois missed being at the market after Tony died in 1975, so several years later she moved to Harrison Twp, where she lived many more years. Lois' favorite past time included being a member of the Tops Club, singing with the Sweet Adeline's, attending and participating in garage sales every summer. many afternoons you could find her at Metro Beach feeding the ducks, reading a book or taking a snooze! She also enjoyed traveling to California, New York, Las Vegas and many trips over the bridge to Canada. She was a talented artist. She loved to draw and paint beautiful pictures in different mediums. She also painted many pieces of ceramics such as plates, cups, and saucers. Lois enjoyed cooking, bakiing and to create biirthday cakes for friends and family. She was a plant enthusiast. When you visited her, the balcony and living room would always have a jungle of many lush green plants! She also generously sponsored several charities.
